Where are sessions held?
Counseling sessions take place either online through a telehealth portal from the comfort of your home or in my office located in Midtown East in Manhattan.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance but I am happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits. Call your insurance for more information on your benefits.
I have also partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits.
Mentaya is perfect if you:
• Have out-of-network benefits
• Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance
• Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement
• Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!
Here's how it works:
1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/ao3CbPLlHLomkcBaROf5
2. I will enter your sessions into the platform.
3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.
4. You get reimbursed by insurance!
Mentaya charges you a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.
How many therapy sessions will I/we need?
There is no direct answer to this question. Therapy or counseling is a deeply personal process and varies from person to person, and couple to couple. Your motivation and goals will have an impact on duration in counseling. There are some people who need only a few sessions, then there are others who stay in counseling for a few years.
What is Relational Life Therapy (RLT)?
Relational Life Therapy (RLT) is a specialized form of couples counseling developed by therapist Terry Real who has been featured in outlets ranging from Oprah to NBC Nightly News to The New York Times. RLT operates in three powerful phases to produce deep, lasting change rapidly in individuals and in their relationships.
Step One: Waking Up the Individual
Through loving confrontation, we identify the behaviors and coping mechanisms that are sabotaging your connection.
Step Two: Inner Child Work
Next, we guide you through deep inner child work, helping you heal from past hurts in the presence of your partner.
Step Three: Learning Relational Skills
Finally, we teach essential skills to manage conflict, express emotions with respect, and develop nourishing closeness.
